I'm a little late to the party but I just finished watching the NCIS s5 finale...

Season 6 can't get here fast enough! I saw the Director's death coming but I thought it was going to be from illness. And I just knew that in the last 3 episodes Tony and Ziva would get together. All that unrequited love going around. And now it's Gibbs and a whole new team. It's just not right. I wonder now if some people won't be back for season 6.

Blasphemy! Gibbs will fix it all with his magic powers Abby seemed so sure he has.

My theory (and many others) is this:

Season 6 is extended by 4 or so eps. So, for the first 3-4 eps we will see all the changes around NCIS. Probably get some Tony on the ship, McGee fighting crime behind a computer (wait, what's changing there? oh, no gun and no McNames... how sad :-( , Ziva... well her I'm not sure what they'll show... then slowly Gibbs learns some secret or two via Franks once he's safely back in Mexico or from Fornell. There is confrontation... wham bam... team is drawn back to DC.

Many, including TV Guide's Matt Roush, has said that the NCIS peeps would be stupid to get rid of the team like that because that is what makes NCIS what it is. Plus, I don't see Michael Weatherly leaving the show unless he was kicked off (based off of reviews he's given about not being to stick a fork in Tony). I don't see Ziva and McGee leaving either.

Go read my two orgy fics... Everything gets fixed in them and there's group sex at Gibbs'.

Oh, I've read a little spoiler on spoiler fix... http://www.spoilerfix.com/ncis.php

I read something that quoted one of the producers as saying that NCIS won't be House - where the main characters got pushed aside for House's new team.

Just like when Gibbs retired he was reinstated before episode 3. I'm sure they will pretend that the summer time line happened so when we pick up in the fall they will have been separated for a few months and then Poof Gibbs will make it all better.

As for Jenny - not sorry to see the character go.

Neither am I. She just didn't fit in with the rest of the group. I also thought it was a little pointless to rehash the whole arc about how she had killed "The Frog." It seemed like filler, and I didn't like that they made Gibbs almost a secondary character.

I thought the whole "Frog" storyline made Jenny an interesting character. Before that she was just some random person that showed up did things so the team could go, "Um....yeah. Anyway, back to what we were doing."

And what she did was just a little bit farther than what Gibbs could or has done in the past. I have to think that from now on he'd think about Jenny every time he got ready to go on one of his Gibbs-quests. Or maybe not. :)

I'd like to think that they'll pick up right where they left off, and the three files will be those of Tony, Ziva, and McGee. Vance will then say something about how they shouldn't screw with him ever again.

I can't see Vance doing that. I'm expecting something will come up and he'll reluctantly put the team back together.

I came to be a NCIS fan quite late. My wife watched it all the time but for some reason I never did. However, the recent marathons on USA Network and now it is on regularly every day has me hooked.

That said. Now that the new season has started I have to say I really liked the storyline of why the team was broken up and how they got back together. I am assuming Tony will eventually get back to DC.

And having a new 'inside' enemy is pretty sweet.

I have also come late to 'The Unit' as a fanboy, but that's a whole 'nuther thread.
